Weather & Packing
Northern Europe in May–July is cool even in summer — expect 8–16°C in Scotland and Iceland. Layers, a good waterproof jacket, and comfortable walking shoes are essential.
Dress Code
Smart casual in main dining rooms nightly. MSC has optional Gala Nights where dressing up is encouraged but not enforced. Casual wear is always fine in buffet and outdoor areas.
Currency Onboard
MSC ships operate on a cashless system — all onboard charges go to your cabin account in USD. International credit cards accepted without surcharges. Final settlement at disembarkation.
Getting to Hamburg
Hamburg Airport (HAM) connects well from major Canadian cities via London or Amsterdam. The cruise terminal is about 20 minutes from the airport. I can help arrange pre-cruise hotel nights.
